Ilya left his parents’ home at the age of twelve to pursue ice hockey full-time — since then the sport has taken him across all of Europe and to Canada, up to his selection for the All-Star game of the Canadian Junior League. Most recently he won the Regionalliga West championship with the Eagles Essen West.
Off the ice he has completed a bachelor’s degree in economics with a focus on Business Analytics — convinced that the future off the ice matters just as much as the performance on it.
