NUI NONI

What does noni really taste like? An honest approach.

Why the fruit polarises, what grape, pomegranate and blueberry do with it — and why chilling makes the difference.

Anyone hearing about noni for the first time usually asks the same question — and it’s a fair one. The ripe noni fruit has a reputation: intense in smell, bitter in taste. In Polynesia, where it has been used for centuries, it was traditionally not drunk for pleasure. That’s the honest starting point.

So why make a juice from it? Because the fruit brings something that convinced us — and because the answer to the taste is not “hiding” but “rounding off”.

Four fruits, one balance

NUI NONI Original contains fermented noni purée from Polynesia — plus three organic direct juices that have exactly one job: to give the intense noni note a frame. Red grape brings natural sweetness, pomegranate the tart-fruity edge, blueberry colour and berry-like depth.

Noni is not a lemonade flavour. Noni is character — and character is something you can learn to like.

The result is dark red, fruity and distinctive. Most describe the first sip as “different from expected” — berry first, then the typical noni note on the finish. After a week of the ritual, many report that this very note is the one they no longer want to be without.

Three tips for getting started

Cold tastes smoother. Put the bottle in the fridge — chilling takes the edge off the noni note and brings out the berries.

Start small. The recommended 60 ml is deliberately a small glass. Neat, in one go, as a fixed ritual — no sipping and pondering.

Anchor it to a habit. Right before breakfast or after brushing your teeth in the evening: the firmer its place in your day, the faster “an acquired taste” simply becomes “mine”.

And the smell?

Here too: honesty. The pure fruit smells fermented — our juice is noticeably milder thanks to the rounding off. Whoever opens the cap smells berries first. The noni note stays recognisable, and that’s intentional: it contains exactly what it says.
